The Greens have provided a voice for the shire for decades and contributed to the dynamic and protected place it is today. This is the reason why I chose to live here over a decade ago.  I respect the decades of community and council action for ecologically sustainable living.  I’ve spent more than 25 years as an activist for Aboriginal rights, environmental protection and community resilience.

My previous life in the Northern Territory involved campaigning against the Jabiluka mine in Kakadu NP.  I then spent 10 years working for Aboriginal Land Councils and completed my degree in Natural and Cultural Resource Management.  When I moved here, I studied at SCU and completed my double degree in Naturopathy and Clinical Science and then a Master of Applied Anthropology and Participatory Development at ANU in 2019.

I’ve spent a decade as property manager of my family’s organic farm at Brunswick Heads, “Byron Rainbow Farm”. Over the last 12 years I’ve continued consultancy work in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Conservation and Aboriginal Development and also worked as a casual Naturopath and Nutritionist.

Inappropriate development that threatened ecological and agricultural land sparked my involvement with council in 2012. Since then, I’ve had an ongoing engagement with council issues and been an active member of community organisations.  I’ve researched the shire’s past and understand environmental and planning law and I’m now ready to apply that experience to the role of councillor.
