Bathurst water for local people

With uncertain weather patterns and reduced rainfall in our region, the Greens plan to secure Macquarie river water for local food production and agriculture.

As our town experiences rapid growth, the Greens will ensure new development projects incorporate stormwater harvesting and recycled water usage.

Renewable energy for lower power bills

Community power companies run by our local council ensure energy security and give all residents equal access to cheap, clean, renewable energy.

Real action on tackling global warming has never been more important. Our council can play a key role by making the shift to renewable energy. The Greens plan to make every council a community energy provider by 2030, using existing council buildings and infrastructure and getting savings for their communities by buying storage batteries and solar panels in bulk for all households.

Connect cycleways, parks and pathways with new and existing developments

Community health and safety is a priority for the Bathurst Greens Team. We support safer and extended footpaths and cycleways for children and cyclists and improved access for people with disabilities.

The Bathurst Greens team will protect our special green spaces, street trees, streams, nature reserves and wildlife corridors throughout the city and villages.

Celebrate our city & villages’ culture & heritage including preserving our old buildings for community use

Consulting with community to serve our youth, arts and tourism sectors as well as the Aboriginal community, the Greens will work to find adaptive reuses for our old iconic buildings, such as the TAFE building and preserve our cultural history.
