The rate payers and residents of our area, from Boat Harbour to Karuah, deserve driveable roads, kerbs and guttering and better footpaths.

Band-aiding potholes is ineffective and costly and the lack of kerb and guttering causes road and verge erosion.

The number of urban residential and main roads without footpaths is alarming; children walking on roads alongside traffic to school, people in wheelchairs and on scooters dodging cars and the elderly risking injury on uneven unpaved verges. Walking is beneficial for for human and environmental health, but only if it is safe to do so.

When elected I will:

  • advocate a major increase in annual council spending on roads and pathways
  • seek further grant funding to fast track these works and prioritize community safety.
