candidate for Hornsby Shire Council – ward A
With a career in the creative industries, Tania is not your typical Green’s candidate. But one of the many great qualities of the Greens is they represent the diversity of our community in all areas. Tania is a commercial photographer with a degree in communications. Her background in manufacturing production management has helped shape Tania’s results-focussed energy, which she will use to achieve the best results for Hornsby Shire residents.
Tania lives on Darug and Guringai land with her wonderful partner, and gorgeous son who shares her enjoyment of gardening, love of animals, and keeps her laughing. As an avid music enthusiast, Tania has been involved in community radio as a member of the management committee and presenting music programs. She considers local media to be an essential service to communities and strengthens local democracy.
Tania believes Hornsby Shire residents deserve a diverse, fair, open and accountable local government; a council that is not afraid to act on the most pressing matters of our time, including climate change. With a creative mindset and willingness to listen, Tania will bring fresh ideas to achieving sustainable and ethical outcomes for the Hornsby Shire community; while improving liveability in the Hornsby Shire. Hornsby Shire needs more strong voices that reflect the community and will speak up for those who can’t, to encourage smarter planning decisions and improve council services, including:
- protection of agricultural land
- essential services, particularly waste and sewerage
- greater support for local tourism
- community-based planning
