Hello, I’m Tania Salitra and I’m grateful to be living on Darug land with my family; and to be the Green’s councillor for Ward A.

I believe in a common-sense approach for the common good, not just the few; with community-based planning essential to council decisions and know that any development must be appropriate to infrastructure.

Meaningful action on climate change is the critical step in caring for our community and environment, particularly in light of bushfire and flood insurance affordability; with the threat of these increasingly severe events surrounding our homes.

We are so lucky to have the precious tree canopy here in the Bushland Shire; and the lifestyle our majestic waterways and national parks afford us. Our rivers, bushland and the wildlife they support must be protected and nurtured. In a world with ever-shifting security, Hornsby Shire’s agriculture is vital to our local economy and must also be supported and protected.

As a mother with a primary-aged child, I understand the need for affordable housing and childcare, inclusive recreational spaces for all abilities and ages, safe footpaths and safe cycleways and a vibrant, sustainable community. I’m passionate about preserving the environment we enjoy for future generations.

With a background in Australian-made manufacturing management, running a small business within the creative industries; and qualifications in communication, human resource management, training, fashion, photography and manufacturing management, I’ve developed versatile and wide-ranging skills along with a results-driven energy that I use to advocate for the best outcomes for our community.
