I am a local Secondary Teacher and an active member of the Kiama community with a keen interest in the protection of our local environment. I am the Coordinator of Bombo Headland Landcare Group, Secretary of Landcare Illawarra and a member of Friends of Minnamurra River.

I am also involved in various environmental, animal welfare and human rights groups including Amnesty International, Animals Australia, The Wilderness Society, and Extinction Rebellion.

As a Kiama Greens member, I have been become increasingly concerned with the current policy direction of Kiama Council.

For me, decisions relating to environmental policies and development consents as well as issues with governance and a lack of both transparency and genuine community consultation became most concerning when a boardwalk in and along the Minnamurra River was proposed. I feel an urgency to join Council and contribute my strong sense of social and environmental justice and focus on the need to protect the most vulnerable in our community.
