Our beautiful bushlands, rivers, and wetlands are a big part of what makes the Hawkesbury so special. Protecting these environments is significant for mental and physical health as well as the maintenance of habitat and biodiversity.
On Council, we will:
- Protect our koalas and fully fund a Koala Plan of Management
- Prioritise compliance action against illegal vegetation removal and waste dumping
- Opt out of the Rural Boundary Clearing Code
- Strengthen planning requirements so development doesn’t compromise the
ecological integrity of the Hawkesbury river and its tributaries, and our precious world renowned wetlands - Plant more trees and increase tree canopy by funding Council’s Urban Greening policy
- Reinstate the Environmental Advisory Committee
- Work with the Riverkeeper and Western Sydney University to improve river health

Free Pool Entry Days for Inner West Aquatic Centre
Do you think Council should investigate a trial for free pool entry at Inner West Aquatic Centres?
We Need A Youth Centre in Ashfield

Build rent-capped, accessible council homes
We have a plan for council to directly address the housing crisis, by buying, investing in and building public homes.
Low cost renewable energy for renters
We have a plan to build a council-run community battery and solar network.
Reclaim our streets for people and nature
We have a plan to encourage the use of streets for community events. And we’ll reduce excessive visual pollution from advertising.
Active transport policy
The Inner West is an amazing place to live: vibrant and full of diversity. We’re lucky to live in a welcoming community where people care for one another and stand up for what matters.
Our plan starts with a vision to make our community a leader in climate action. It includes a plan to stop overdevelopment, care for people and invest in our parks and greenspace.
