Great public spaces are vital for mental health, community building and economic activity.
We’ll make our town and village centres thriving, safe and inviting spaces, and maintain our public spaces so they can be a place for everyone.

On Council, we will:

  • Improve parking and ensure safe and easy access for everyone
  • Make sure our town and village centres are clean and well lit, with safe and
    accessible pathways
  • Increase greenery and shade so you can park somewhere cool and walk
comfortably to where you need to go
  • Use street art and music to revitalise public spaces
  • Invest in public toilets that are accessible and open to the public
  • Commitment to high standards of maintenance and cleanliness
  • Invest in more facilities like BBQs, play equipment and seating
  • Increase facilities along the river, with easy access pathways for everyone to enjoy
  • Invest in parks and shade sails so every kid has a shady place to play
