Hi, I'm Conroy, your Greens candidate for Canterbury Ward in the upcoming Local Government Election. As a young person, I have seen and felt first-hand the effects of the cost of living crisis and the soaring cost of housing and rental prices.
With our diverse community and incredible places, Canterbury-Bankstown should be the jewel in Sydney's crown. But the past eight years under Labor, with chaotic independents, has brought our council to a standstill.
Like their state and federal colleagues, Labor's Mayor and Councillors have failed to support our community.
I want to fight for a council, that ensures that developments targeted and well-planned measures, which prioritise consultation and co-design. I want to ensure developments have accessible infrastructure, adequate communal spaces, and sustainability in mind.
Additionally, I wish to fight to ensure council puts social justice first. I wish to fight to support Palestinian refugees in our community, implement BDS, increase public housing stock, fight for food banks. and so much more.
Vote 1 Greens for a council that is not just bigger but better.
