On Albury Council The Greens will take action on housing affordability by:

• Supporting increased housing density in the CBD of Albury and close to public transport hubs
• Directly investing in the supply of affordable rental housing through:
  • Identifying suitable parcels of council owned land
  • partnering with The Land and Housing Commission
  • Partnering with Community Housing Developers
  • Investigating direct Council development of affordable housing
• Ensuring that targets for housing growth specifically include targets for social, affordable, and key worker housing
• Establishing planning controls that require affordable housing in all new developments
• Providing emergency pet boarding for people escaping family and domestic violence or who are at risk of homelessness
