I've called the Eastern Suburbs home for decades, and I've raised my kids here. I want to make sure that all Randwick families can comfortably call this place home as well.

I moved to Australia with my husband and 2 daughters in 2000 because I wanted to further my education, but also because I knew there was no future for my daughters in Iran. We all have the right to a quality education, a safe climate, stable education and a society that treats all people as equal - and that's what I'll stand up for on Council. People make this place special - not big developers. That's why the Greens are standing up for affordable housing in Randwick - not luxury apartments that nobody can afford.

I am an accredited NAATI interpreter and translator, a former lecturer at university of Tehran and currently working at UNSW as a librarian. I'm an Iranian- born Australian and have been fortunate to benefit from the many opportunities in Australia. Now I want to give back to the community. Randwick city council is home to more than 104 different national or ethnic groups and caters to a culturally and linguistically diverse community.

As a Greens councillor I will support diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism, and women's rights. I also have a great love of nature, and I know that the Greens are the loudest voice in the struggle to protect the environment. Furthermore, the Greens are also focused on creating a better future for the next generation of Australians by tackling climate change, and the housing crisis
