Simon (Queanbeyan, Support Candidate)
I arrived in Queanbeyan with my family in 1992 to serve in the local Anglican church. In 2005 I took up an appointment as a prison chaplain, working in Goulburn Correctional Centre before being appointed as Chaplain to ACT Corrective Services when the AMC received its first inmates in 2009.
I have always had a passion for the marginalised and disadvantaged of our community, having written a regular column informed by my experiences, but was careful not to promulgate political views while holding religious office.
Since retirement I have become more active, joining the Greens and supporting their focus on climate action and the protection of nature, while continuing to embrace compassion for the marginalised.
