Council should be the heart of strengthening communities and civil society.

Representative democracy is not enough. We want to expand local democracy so that people can be involved in making decisions that affect them and are directly involved in making their communities work better.

We want a Council that works in genuine partnership with the community. A Council to devolves real power to communities and provides the infrastructure – physical and online spaces, training, insurance – for communities to come together.

We want a Council that is responsive to residents, includes those with less voice and is somewhere people know they can go to be heard and get outcomes.
