Gary Fry and his family have recently moved permanently to Bellingen, occupying the home they bought back in 2010. Gary spends much of his time occupied with the Great Eastern Ranges Initiative on bushfire recovery projects for fauna and flora, stretching from Victoria to the Queensland border. He has been a member of the Jaliigirr Biodiversity Alliance since 2013, and has been a board member of two Steiner schools, and two international boards.

Gary brings to his candidacy a varied and strongly relevant set of skills, experience and qualifications, with an emphasis on environmental issues. He worked for many years as director of a large government business division in central Australia, a job which encompassed such diverse aspects as tourism, social justice, wildlife and botanic gardens. He is also an officeholder with the Bellingen and District Greens.
