I am a young and energetic life-long Lismore community member and want to bring diversity and youth involvement to Lismore City Council. Community has been a constant throughout my schooling and adult life. I grew up in South Gundurimba, completed my schooling at local public schools and currently study at Southern Cross University where I am undertaking a Law degree. My involvement with the community has included volunteering with the Lismore Lantern Parade, Friends of the Koala, Lock the Gate and many other community events.

As a City Councillor I want to listen to your concerns about local government, in particular to be a voice for Lismore youth as someone they can approach to voice their concerns and aspirations regarding Council issues. I will advocate for better public transport to make Lismore safer and more accessible for young people.

I am a trained actor and passionate about making Lismore and surrounding areas such as Nimbin a thriving atmosphere for the creative arts. This can  increase employment, generate tourism and get Lismore youth engaged and excited. Through many years of involvement with Lismore Theatre Company I have seen community members relish what the Lismore area has to offer and I’m proud of what we continue to accomplish in that field.

Protecting our natural environment has been a constant theme in my life. By growing up here and studying environmental science in the Northern Rivers, I have experienced the rich and diverse environment unique to our area. I will strive to protect our biodiversity and listen intently to the traditional owners of this land especially with regards to planning and development.

I have been a Lismore Greens member since I was 12 and I am now a local convenor. Involvement in local politics from such a young age has instilled in me a passion to work for my community. The Greens have a focus on planning for a sustainable future and grassroots community engagement, which are extremely relevant values in local government.

Over the years I have  actively participated in community activities, which has taught me valuable leadership skills. I have been a representative for the community through the Greens, as a student representative for SCU and as a youth spokesperson in the media. I believe this leadership experience has given me the skills necessary to represent you on Lismore City Council, paired with a fiery passion to make positive change and give local youth a voice.
