Candidate for Blacktown - Ward 1

I am honoured and humbled to announce my candidacy for the upcoming council election as your representative for Blacktown Ward 1. I’ve lived in the Blacktown LGA since 2009. I love living here because of the multicultural diversity of our local neighbourhoods. I’ve been working in the disability sector for about seventeen years and am currently the Chief Executive Officer of a disability organisation.

I have always been deeply concerned about human rights, environmental sustainability, social justice and community wellbeing. The disparities between Western Sydney and the cooler, wealthier suburbs closer to the coast are very troubling to me. As your councillor, I shall devote myself to addressing the diverse needs of Ward 1 residents and making Ward 1 a better place to live in.
Our children are the future. I’m committed to creating a stimulating environment for their growth and will champion the development of safe, well-maintained, well-shaded playgrounds that inspire creativity. As a father, I understand the importance of play for children’s learning and development. I will especially advocate for special swings for kids with disabilities. Families are the cornerstone of a thriving community. I’ll promote policies that strengthen family bonds and create opportunities for family members to spend quality time together. From accessible childcare services to family-friendly events, I aim to make Ward 1 an ideal place for families.
Our elderly and differently-abled residents deserve a community that caters to their needs. I will work tirelessly to implement accessibility measures and support services, ensuring that these residents can fully participate in and contribute to our vibrant community life. Listening to your voices is at the heart of my campaign, and building a sense of community is central to my plan. I’ve listed some things that matter to me. I want to know what matters to you and will make active efforts to find out. My vision is that, through innovative community engagement initiatives, we will create spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and mutual support.
Your support means the world to me, and I’m eager to work with you to improve life in Ward 1. Let’s build a future where every Ward 1 resident thrives.
