The Greens want to see real action to get more electric vehicles on the road in Australia, to reduce our reliance on polluting fossil-fuel powered cars and to meet our climate commitments.

In Woollahra, your Greens Councillors have delivered on-street chargers in Bondi Junction, Rose Bay and Double Bay as part of a joint initiative with Randwick and Waverley Councils. A further station recently approved is soon to be installed at Five Ways, Paddington!

We pushed for changes to planning controls to ensure new developments include EV charging spaces. With more than half of new car buyers considering an EV, now is the time to make charging available for more residents and visitors to Woollahra. The Greens will work with local groups to find suitable locations to increase on-street charging while preserving heritage values, increase availability in shopping centres and apartment buildings and work with Greens nationally to increase Federal funding for local charging infrastructure.
