The Greens support good development which meets residents' needs, including: well-planned medium-level development, preservation of the tree canopy, preservation of heritage buildings, sufficient services and infrastructure.

However, the NSW Government is now imposing new zoning rules which will produce poor development outcomes while not reducing the underlying housing shortages. Both renters and new home owners will face continuing shortages. The planning rules favour developers, not the community.

Charles Jago was Deputy Mayor in 2018/2019. He chairs Council's Environment Advisory Committee, serves on the cultural committee and is the nominated councillor for library matters. Successful motions Charles has introduced in Council (most unanimously) include: Declaration of a climate emergency, support for marriage equality, Council switch to 100% renewable energy, divestment of Council investments from banks lending to fossil fuel projects and better Council tree reporting.

Canada Bay needs more public transport, schools, and green space while promised infrastructure (such as Rapid Transit along Parramatta Road - buses or light rail) remains overdue.

Greens priorities for Canada Bay: Increase affordable housing, upgrade transport infrastructure, environmentally sustainable policies, a new local public high school and upgrade transport infrastructure.
