That's why I'm running for Maitland City Council - Because enough is enough.

For the past few decades we have seen our biodiversity hit a record low as more and more overpriced development clears entire ecosystems for a small profit. At the same time we have a Council that has continued to cut community access to necessary public amenities, senior centers, and basic needs that are required to combat economic inequality and aid in the cost of living crisis.

My passion for public service is inherited from my school teacher parents and veteran grandfather, who instilled in me the values of caring for ones neighbours. I first put that passion into practice by volunteering at Maitland Repertory Theatre, attending plantings at Bolwarra Landcare & Earthcare Park and more recently just this past year, becoming a member of the Maitland Rotary Club. Through all this work I've seen one thing clear as day. We need to be doing more.

With The Greens on Council I promise to advocate for our community on all levels and to all levels. I will bring the issues of our city to State & Federal Governments and demand they do more. I will advocate for a future for Walka Water Works that doesn't see it sold off to private interests. I will restore our community access to the Senior Centre and Maitland Gaol & I will ensure our former hospital site has a future that benefits Maitland. I will ensure our roads are safer, our public transport is more accessible & our community has access to proper public amenities. I will ensure Council finally delivers on it's proposed cultural hub and advocate for a Performing Arts Centre.

Above all, I will stand up for you. I will stand up for the locally owned businesses that have been the backbone of our CBD for years. I will support the Heritage and Cultural Identity that makes our city so unique and I will ensure our Environment is the pride of the Hunter Valley again.

Nothing changes if Nothing Changes - Maitland - It's time for change.
