Hi, I'm Linda. Your candidate for Ward 2.
I'm running for Council in Ward 2 which is a diverse area encompassing East Nowra, where I live. I see the pressures on people and households in this area daily. I know this community and see the need for better public spaces and infrastructure.
My work as a science/ agriculture teacher has allowed me to connect with young people and families in this area and provided valuable insights into what the next generation are concerned about.
With a background in Biological Science, I also understand the implications and nuances of environmental management and will look to make evidence-based decisions. It helps that as a teacher, I've had to learn to be adaptable, organised and a quick learner.
I was born and raised on a farm. I understand that primary industries are important and employ many people, and this needs to be kept in mind as we transition away from fossil fuels and logging native forests.
I want Council's decisions to be focused on the future, taking into account the perspective of my own and younger generations. Our Greens councillors have been inspirational to me. I would love to be an inspiration to future leaders.
