Richard Holz

Candidate for Mid-Western Council

My name Richard Holz and I'm passionate about protecting our bushland and rivers, making Council more transparent and accountable, and ensuring that only appropriate development is supported.

There is a groundswell of dissatisfaction with our Council that seems only interested in economic development at any cost. I believe Council needs to genuinely engage with all residents to protect what is special about our area.
As a resident of 8 years and a retired environmental professional, I believe I can make a difference and help rebuild the environmental and social health and wellbeing of our local government area.
Environmental pollution needs to be better regulated by Council including stopping pollution from development sites, contaminated land and on-site sewage management systems. Council needs to play its part in pushing for more action on the protection of koala habitat and adopting policies to ensure their survival in the wild. And Council's role in alleviating the housing and rental crisis needs to be include limiting bed nights for short term rental accommodation in our urban areas.
I'll represent our community's values on Council and work tirelessly to help us achieve a cleaner, more liveable community.
