Eurobodalla needs better development planning to maintain urban tree cover, provide better walking and cycling paths, and to improve affordable housing options. It is clear that our current urban development caters for retirees and holiday makers, and that local workers are being left behind. I want us to look after locals and our current lifestyles as well as thinking about the future and business challenges. We need to cater for all our different groups of ratepayers.

Since the Black Summer fires I have been working with the Eurobodalla rural community implementing bushfire recovery projects, including organising tree planting on local private properties. Another key project is the first NSW trial of virtual fencing on Cullendulla Drive, Long Beach. The installation of warning devices activated by car headlights has markedly reduced wildlife fatalities.

Through Coastwatchers Forest Working Group I have been working with locals to protect over 140,000 hectares of spotted gum forest in the Eurobodalla slated for logging. Having lived in the fire prone Adelaide Hills for 23 years I support asset protection measures and rapid response aerial fire fighting capability.

I will draw from the Greens proven environmental track record to protect the natural beauty and amazing biodiversity of our beaches and forests. Together we can implement effective climate action by maximising renewable energy, supporting nature based tourism and ending native forest logging.
