Candidate for Hills Shire Council – Central Ward

To address mental health and cost of living pressures we need to strengthen community connections, protect our beautiful green spaces (since nature can be incredibly healing), and ensure our council supports us with practical solutions.

Developer interests, private corporations and a dominance of one political party on the council which does not represent the diversity of residents in The Hills.

I'm a local clinical psychologist and a long-time resident. Our community is facing significant challenges and I speak with many people through my work who are suffering with their mental health, partly due to the mounting cost of living.

This term, our only Greens Councillor Dr Mila Kasby proved just how committed the Greens are in putting the community first. We need more Greens on council to put residents at the heart of decision-making and to rebuild trust in local democracy.

With more Greens on Council we can move the focus towards: Housing: Adopt affordable housing targets so that developers must provide this. Lower Childcare Costs: Reduce the financial burden on families. Protect Green Spaces: Preserve our natural environment and wildlife. Net Zero Climate Plan: Support a plan for a sustainable future and help families transition to renewable energy.

We have both challenges and opportunities ahead. By electing leaders who prioritise climate action, affordable housing, and community integrity, we can build a healthier, more sustainable future for The Hills.
