The Hawkesbury deserves a more ambitious council, with a passion for protecting our environment, infrastructure and communities.

Our current council largely controlled by the Liberal-Labour block has a track record of environmental inaction, reckless decisions and looking out for vested interests over the communities they are sworn to represent.
I moved to the Hawkesbury at the age of 17 to study the environment and wildlife at WSU in Richmond, it was those to issues that made me want to stay. Our environment continues to face threats that council fails to act against and w need to see greater environmental protections put in place at council level to see our biodiversity thrive into the future.
We can do much more to create safe inclusive communities that can continue to grow. As people continue to move to the Hawkesbury in search of affordable housing, its important that we increase services and support for new members of our community while not neglecting the communities we have already developed.
We have strong plans in place to improve everything the last council has put in place and big plans for the Hawkesbury: better active transport links; better road repairs; a Koala Plan of Management; Council advisory committees that include young people, First Nations people and community members; shaded parks; free vouchers to local pools; FOGO collection; zero waste events; urban heat mitigation; disaster preparedness; and genuine affordable housing targets.
